I've been enjoying your free ice cream for about 4 years now. i figure that's worth $50 to a garand fund. At what, about $800 bucks for a garand, I'll bet you could have it in no time flat.
If you want to feel guilty, you can always find people harder up than you. You have the lovely Mrs. B, 2 healthy sons, a home, a job, your health. Having a Garand will not change the essential balance of your life. It's a good life, filled with blessings you did not earn.
If you want a Garand, that is a reasonable goal. Keep it 3 years or 30, you'll be able to sell it for more than you paid for it, inflation included. I'm in for $20.00, that's $70.00 so far.
