Man shot by mother of two in home invasion sentenced to 10 years in prison

Breaking news on a high-profile case:
WALTON COUNTY, Ga. —
A burglar shot multiple times during a home invasion will spend 10 years in prison for the crime.

...

Investigators said Slater broke into a Loganville home on Henderson Drive in January and pursued a woman and two children inside. Investigators said Slater broke through a bedroom door, a bathroom door and a closet door before he reached an attic crawl space where the woman was clutching a .38-calibur [sic] handgun.
She must have been compensating for something, like four broken down doors.  But that's not possible, because I heard that the attacker would have just taken her gun away from her.  Or something.

But why do you need a standard capacity magazine?  Because after she emptied her revolver into the guy, he went back to his car and drove away.

Needs either more range time, a larger caliber, OR BOTH!

There ya go again, usin' all them darn "facts" and "logic" instead of resortin' to good ole' knee-jerk reactions and plain emotionalism (with a healthy dose of sensationalism and exaggeration thrown in fer flavor) like dem good ole folks who want to ban yer guns and destroy the Republic we used to live in? Some people....

Dang, that was quick. If memory serves, this happened only in January. Hopefully the mom defending herself & her kids is getting the help she needs to recover from the trauma of being invaded, etc.
