When Charles Schultz agreed to let the TV folks do an animated Christmas special, he insisted on two things that gave the studio execs major heartburn: he insisted on a reading from the Book of Matthew, and he insisted on a jazz score. The studio execs blinked first, and both of those additions were wildly popular.

I always loved this music. Plus the fact that the bass player is Pigpen makes it perfect.
I got that nickname while playing high school football. It seemed like no matter what, I always got dirty playing or practicing. Dirty and also concussions. 5 or 6 to be honest. I guess it is why my brain works so poorly sometimes. lol
Another Christmas fave from Vince Guaraldi, right ahead of "Skating".
The ONLY Christmas album I like and I LIKE IT A LOT!
My cousin Chip got the pigpen moniker for the same reason. Literally he could walk out the front door and come right back in filthy covered in mud.
And believe it or not, Schultz only had a MONTH to put the Peanuts Christmas special together!!!
Mike Rowe does a segment on his The Way I heard it, which was rebroadcast on TBN’s production that tells more of the story.Good stuff
