Oliver Anthony - Rich Men North Of Richmond

It's said that a song only needs three chords and the truth to be great.    Oliver Anthony has exactly that - along with multiple million dollar record offers which he has turned down.  Interesting guy.

I wonder if that wasn’t top-tier-four-dimensional-chess or lunacy? They offered him 8 million. What would they expect in return? Big money can get you into big trouble fast. They’d have turned him into a prostitute like they have with so many others…

Duping alienated workers who are “selling their souls” for “bulls—t pay” to channel their frustration towards overweight round fudge eating food-stamp recipients instead of the anti-worker lobbyists and union-busting employers isn’t exactly a new concept of the right wing think tanks. Maybe that’s why so many of them raced to promote the song. Those elite parlor sitting rich men north and south of Richmond should surely be proud of this guy.

No dog in this fight. Wish him well. The usual suspects don't like him.

Ya think he dodged a bullet, maybe BP?

What, exactly, would the music labels want for their 8 million? Your soul? The celebs may look good under the lights, getting on and off the Lear jets, and doing photo ops with the beautiful people… but the whip is still on their arse. For 8 million, that kid would have manufacture several more hits, live on the road, rub elbows with the richest, shittiest people America can produce, do product endorsements and gawd only knows what else. It’s no wonder so many crack up…
