Pondering

So what would have happened if Mitt Romney had won the election?  What's the likelihood that he would have stood up to John McCain, Toomey, and the squishy Republicans on universal background checks?

Me, I think that we'd have a new gun control law on the books today.

Almost certain. He, like McCain, is a "look how well I compromise with Satan" kind of guy.

Which is why I didn't vote for him or the guy who won. If the Republicans want my vote, they need to stop running Democrats with an R behind their name.

Yup, one more reason I am happy I didn't vote for Rmoney.

Can't prove a counter-factual but I believe you are correct. And it would have been substantially worse than what was in the key vote. Probably more like Schumer's original. I almost bailed on the NRA after they endorsed him but after this fight started, it felt like desertion in the face of the enemy. Now Alan Gotlieb has beclowned himself. What is a believer in the Constitution to do?
