Bah
Blogger won't upload the photos I took (presumably because they're too large) and the Android Youtube app won't give me an embed code. Blogging is pretty limited from the Android phone.
Google Photos (via the app or https://photos.google.com/ ) should be available to you and you should be able to either link from that or adjust the size then post.

Been there done that.
The Android is not my blogging tool of choice. Yup, feelin' yer pain.
It would appear that Blogger is still not the place to write a post longer than a few sentences.
I would recommend either Google Keep or Drive for writing on Android as they both keep your text if you accidentally switch away.
Also the new Photos app offers "unlimited" space for your photos use their compression.
They just haven't updated the Blogger app that much.
I just tried the YouTube app.
I hit the "share" button and got a list of apps and a copy URL button that gave me the same short youtu.be link.
Are you using the current YouTube app?
If the photos are too big you should be able to use the built-in Android tools to either crop or resample them to be smaller.
