Very nice giutar work, very Hawaiiian. I am reading Hampton Sides book about Cook's last voyage to Hawaii. His crew killed one of the first Hawaiians they came across, not a good first impression.
Here country refers to rural. Waimanalo certainly was rural. Unpaved roads, far off the beaten track. The tune is a favorite. The song is about the buildout of what was once the rural home. Can't go back cuz it doesn't exist no more. Auwe
