I joke around with my kids all the time, pulling smallish pranks on them. It helps with their critical thinking skills.... well, that's my hope anyway. However, I'd never put it up on YouTube, no matter what Jimmy Kimmel wants.
It's okay to use people (and not just any old people, but one's own children) as objects for the amusement of one's self and of total strangers on the Interwebs.

That fat whiny kid who cursed and hit his parents needs to be put up for adoption.
But the last one--the one who told Jimmy Kimmel what he could do--that kid's going to go far in life!
That reminds me of the time when I was a young teenager that I woke my brother up telling him that Santa Claus came!
It was July
He was not too happy with me.

If it feels good, do it.
I guess.
I'm now *VERY* tempted to put a couple of gag gifts under the tree for our kids. :) I won't put recordings up on You Tube...probably.
The parents would do well to remember that those children will be the ones who choose their nursing home...
