I remember this day because of something that *didn't* happen. My daughter Robyn wanted to go to a lunch sponsored by the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) in Boston. Since it was a school day, I told her she couldn't go. She was angry about my decision. The lunch was supposed to be at the Windows on the World restaurant at the top of the World Trade Center around 11am on September 11, 2001.
I think what mystifies me the most is how anyone could ever forget. What happened to the mindset that was present in nearly everyone on September 12th?
Worked at a tier 2 defense vehicle manufacturer at the time based in Indiana. Boss always had a small TV on his desk to watch the stock ticker, he was really into the stock market. That morning went as usual until he yelled for everyone in the office to come in and look at the TV screen. We all stood in mute silence as the camera from a mobile crew unfolded of the first tower billowing smoke from a hit, all of us wondering if an accident was possible.
That feeling vanished at the second plane hitting. It was an attack. From then on, every former military in the building (we had dozens) was on their phone calling contacts to find out a) if they were OK and b) what the heck is going on. It went on for hours, folks congregated in the lunch room where there were larger screens.
Never forget, never forgive, yet here we are 25 years on and have allowed tens of thousands Muslims into our country. There has to be a reckoning for the perpetrators and for those in our government who have allowed the problem to grow under our noses. A part of the blame rests with the voters, sadly more from inattention and accepting lies by too many then/now in government.
God rest the souls of all who have perished in this, we still owe getting it straightened for our children and grandchildren. Do not vote for anyone shown to be a liar and untrustworthy, pay attention to what is said and what they have actually done. Toss out the rot.

May GOD have mercy on my soul but I firmly believe we have not killed enough of them yet.
