They can save $100,000,000 which is only one tenth of one percent of a trillion dollars. It won’t make much of a dent in the current deficit. They’re only hurting the working class with this window dressing. And for what? To give billionaires even more money to acquire “things”?
I’ll type slowly so you can understand. Cutting spending by firing workers (the working class) will account for fractions of percentage points in reducing the deficit. The hack and chop method being used is crippling some of the very agencies that are necessary for the nation’s economy, safety, and security.
In addition, the New York Times today has published an independent review of the claims made by DOGE. It shows that instead of the BILLIONS of savings in program and contract cuts, it’s more like Millions. For instance, In one claim by DOGE they claim a contract cancellation that was worth 8 billion. But the Times review shows the contract was for 8 million, of which 2.5 million had already been paid out, which results in a savings of only 5.5 million. Quite a far cry from what is claimed.
As far as corruption, how does one measure corruption? Is it corruption when one party does it, but okay if the other party partakes? Claims of stopping corruption should lead to prosecution.
The list of government workers and agencies necessary for the country's economy, safety, and security, outside the DoD, could be written inside a thimble with a fat Sharpie.
There is no historical evidence to support Fiat Currency. At one point, I laid dollar bills of the national debt end to end and it was from here to Uranus. I stopped counting after that. And they just kept on printing.

Instead of typing slowly you should maybe READ slowly. Because the "8 million / billion" mixup was not from DOGE - they calculated correctly with the 8 million dollars but another agency had typed 8 billion so DOGE replicated the typed, but no calculated, mistake.
Oops. You know what is funny? It's one of the first things DOGE adresses if you follow the link that was posted above.
You sound suspicious, comrade. "Your fealty towards the rich is showing." Who the heck unironically talks like that?
"Cutting spending by firing workers (the working class) will account for fractions of percentage points in reducing the deficit." - The "working class" is not bureaucrats. Never ever did anyone call bureaucrats that do not contribute to a nations economy but instead subtract from it a part of the "working class".
And of course it will hurt. Change always does. But now your big counter argument is, that the people will profit from the changes but not as much as you claim that someone claimed?
So dtwnd, you seem like a black/white, even/odd, either/or type of a guy. A person that lives in a binary world. So you present as not liking what doge is doing. So I'm guessing you like to be over-taxed, pay over 50 percent of your income to the government and/or generally liking the back door dogging that we tax payers have been getting all these many years.
TW That’s rich. Let’s just copy and paste someone else’s work. Let’s not check and research that work. Then place the blame that it was someone else’s fault for the mistake. And finally to claim that’s why DOGE is there, to ensure government efficiency. Don’t you see how ironic your statement is? Those that you call bureaucrats that don’t contribute to the nations economy? You realize those ‘non-contributing bureaucrats pay taxes also, right? Those bureaucrats that protect nuclear materials that got fired, the ones that were working on preventing the bird flu from spreading? Those bureaucratic workers who did not contribute to the nations economy? And again, corruption is a crime. So where are those bureaucrats that are being charged? Sooner or later something that DOGE chops up will affect you. See if you’re still all gung ho then.
Steve I’m not a black/white, even/odd kind of person, I understand there are shades of grey and different people have different perspectives. But I am a right/wrong kind of guy and if I see something that I think is wrong, I will say something. You may think otherwise, and you’re entitled to your opinion. And I don’t mind paying my ‘fair share’ in taxes. Our views of what is ‘fair’ probably differ greatly. Now that being said, the Make America Great Again movement has wanted to reverse many of the progress made and go back to the ‘good old days’. Like when, the 1950’s? In reality, top earners in the 1950s were paying about 42-45% of their income in taxes, while today, it's closer to 26-28%. Back then middle class average wage was $3300 and paid a 20% tax rate. (Source: https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/federal/historical-income-tax-rates-brackets/). Those in the middle class now pay around 24% (an increase) while those in that make significantly more pay significantly less. So yes, I think the ultra rich should pay more and not be benefiting by collapsing the government. (See Musk’s cuts to rules and agencies that investigate/regulate his businesses)
You are right Dale! We can totally ignore millionaires in Congress like the fake Indian, Schumer, Pelosi, McConnell, and others on both sides of the isle who are millionaires from producing nothing.
If any those fired vote Democrat, I'm more than happy to see them suffer. I hate both parties, but Democrats have cost the me thousands of dollars. The reality I don't think Trump is trying to fire the engineer at the Natural Resource Conservation Commission looking after federally maintained dams for example, but he does need to get rid of the USAid and other parasites using my stolen money to call me racist and steal guns and give my property to human filth from south of the border.
I'm a Ron Paul guy, but there will be a certain irony of the a populist like Trump with no core ideas demolishing most of the federal government.

What?
Seriously:
What?
So by cutting unnecessary spending and corruption DOGE is hurting the "working class"? How is that supposed to work?
And how does this benefit "billionaires"?

Stop drinking dotGov's bong water, man.
Lol, how’s your grocery and gasoline prices? Your fealty towards the rich is showing.
They've already collapsed our currency.

Last I checked, corruption is a crime. When do we get to see the perpetrators of said corruption be brought before the justice system for prosecution?
