He's making the right enemies. He has cleverly aligned himself with 80% of the voters in his battles against Covid lockdowns, pedophile teachers, and now Disney. He had and has massive support in all of these.
It helps that he comes across as trying to protect children in each of these areas. It also helps that his opponents are just so creepy and weird. Both of those things will help him with the Minivan Mom voter demographic.
The Democratic Party has been intellectually out of gas for a long time now. They've basically defined themselves by what they are not - not George W. Bush, not Donald Trump - rather than what they are. They've had a lot of success doing this over the last 20 years.
But DeSantis is now shining the spotlight on what they are, like being the party that wants to teach weird sex fetishes to kindergartners. This is exposing just how, well, weird the party is. So weird that people don't want to be associated with it.
I guess we'll see how this plays out, but until the Democrats stop coming up with more creepy nonsense aimed at kittle kids, I expect that DeSantis will keep doing what he's been doing.

I note on the news that Colorado has invited Disney up to the Rocky Mountains. Also, some judge in Texas has invited them to move to the Lone Star State.

He is continuing Trump's methods of making the Left become even more shrill and openly idiotic than they were before, so shrill and openly idiotic that the eneMedia can't cover for the shrillness and idiocy anymore.
And that's what it is. Pick a small, seemingly insignificant item. Like K-5 textbooks. And then show what the Left has done. 41% rejected over all grades. 70+% rejected in K-9 math books. Math books. MATH BOOKS. The leftist parasites couldn't keep their perverted perversions out of math for children. Before DeSantis and the Florida Legislature, you only got a few instances of this coming out which were easy to cover up (and we now know why so many school districts didn't allow school books to go home, hmmmm...) Now that the full force of a weaponized government has been activated and the shrillness of the left is set at overload levels, finally we 'normies' get to see what hellish wonders have been fostered upon the children of the Great State of Florida (except for the part controlled by the RINOs that won't let us have Constitutional Carry, those feckless jackwagons.)
DeSantis also has managed to redistrict at least 2 gerrymandered districts that overwhelmingly were quite illegal, designed to give certain groups political power over others. Which is causing the Left to be shrill and openly idiotic over yet another 'crisis.'
Let the suffering of the left continue until our moral improves.
All that Texas's Gov. Abbott does is to mimic what Florida's Gov. DeSantis does. It is a 2024 positioning for Gov. Abbott.
Trump better up his game and stop commiting the same mistakes but he still is attached to son in-law and daughter in the political arena.

And on one hand, I want DeSantis to run so I don't have to listen to a first class jerk. On the other hand, I don't want to lose DeSantis as governor.

Should TPTB deign to let an election stand as is, because they can't get enough thumbs on the scale next time out, he's doing a fantastic job of lining himself up to be Trump's veep in 2024, and then take over the big chair himself for the 8 years after that.

They’ve always been there, Bob. The reason you didn’t see them is because the left focused the lens on kiddie diddling priests in the Catholic Church. Public school teachers attack children at a rate 20 times that of the clergy…but they are big lib supporters so it gets swept under the rug.
They should be teaching the kids to read and write and that’s it. Hopefully they start stretching necks over this soon.
