Thurl Ravenscroft - You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch

The Queen Of The World and I watched this a few days ago.  I hadn't known that Ravenscroft was also the voice of Tony the Tiger for over 50 years.  He also did voices at Disneyland, including the Enchanted Tiki Room (which freaked out a very young #2 Son, back in the day), Pirates of the Caribbean, and as a singing bust in the Haunted Mansion.  This is his most famous performance.

A basso profundo, I think is the description of that voice. I think the Capitol Steps did a takeoff of this featuring the monopolist Bill Gates as "You're a mean one Mr. Gates".

What a voice nevertheless.

A fun post.

Ah, yes. Another "well known" voice artist that few have heard of, but many have heard.

This is the only Grinch that has ever been produced. None of the alleged other versions exist (especially no version with no durn key party at the beginning).

Sure beats the heck out of Jim Carrey.

"Dirty Jobs" host Mike Rowe also sings Mr. Grinch, as does folk singer Slaid Cleaves.
