I Didn't See This Until Today

Obviously, I'm a couple of days late.

Laugh if you will, you gormless mouth breathing miserable miscreants!!! But truly... this is a spectacular and viable option! Some companies are doing something very similar. You can get fully inletted, rough hewn stocks and finish them yourself.
I am seriously considering it for my 25 year old Ruger No.1. But... my nerve fails. You think you're brave and courageous? Try taking a file and a chisel to a presentation grade AAA+ blank of curly maple...
The mere thought of it fills my pamper with fright!

So I bought a stock for my Swedish Mauser from Bishop Stocks about 50 years ago, and it was very nice. This was when people would "sporterize" military surplus rifles, which were cheap and abundant. I bought a Fajen stock for my friend's 311 Savage (or Stevens, I forget) and the stock was probably worth more than the actual shotgun, it being a really inexpensive shotgun from the get go.
Sort of like making a silk purse from a sow's ear, but it was fun.
