The day before a holiday tends to bring out the worst in people. They want to clear their desks so they don't have to think about work on their time off. But that usually means dumping it on someone else.
Reminds me of an old Beetle Bailey cartoon. Sarge is sitting at a desk piled high with paperwork when he notices it's 5:00. He gets up to go but Lt. Fuzz tells him he can't leave until his desk is clear. So Sarge dumps all the paper in a big envelope and drops it in the mailbox on his way out.
Next morning Sarge comes in and sits down at his clean desk. A mail clerk comes by and drops off the big envelope, which Sarge dumps out back onto his desk.

Ya, I hear ya. Do you ever feel like the "poopyheads" rotate their targets? The bullseye on my back must have come up onto their radars.....sheesh.
