The Queen Of The World and I went to the Renaissance Faire yesterday. It's great fun, but the point is fun, not historical accuracy. As you might expect, I notice the music. All yesterday, I would mutter under my breath at the music being played. And so, here's some true Renaissance music from various composers, from the Sixteenth century. This is the sort of music that would have been familiar to Henry VIII (who was a composer in his own right - a true Renaissance Man).
Okay, we agree we think of the Lone Ranger when we hear William Tell Overture, so you must agree that the following lyrics come to mind when we hear real Renaissance music played:
ReplyDeleteBravely bold Sir Robin
Rode forth from Camelot
He was not afraid to die
Oh, brave Sir Robin
He was not at all afraid
To be killed in nasty ways
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin.
