A TIME magazine reporter caused ire on Twitter Saturday night when he said that he "can't wait to write a defense of the drone strike that takes out" Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.Grunwald deleted his tweet, showing that he doesn't have the slightest idea how the Internet actually works. Add idiocy to viciousness.
Michael Grunwald's tweet, since deleted, was quickly met with outrage and bewilderment. Glenn Greenwald, who recently broke several revelations about NSA surveillance programs based on documents provided to him by leaker Edward Snowden, was particularly vocal in expressing his disgust with Grunwald's statement.
My reaction was "Time Magazine is still around? Who knew?" But this is a handy indicator of the MSM's bias - shilling for authoritarians as long as the authoritarians aren't Republicans.
"Time" makes a great bird cage floor.
ReplyDeleteGives the birds something to read while they do their business....
Many of the folks belonging to the American MSM remind me of the character of Grima Wormtongue from "The Lord of the Rings". He was a false adviser to his king (Theoden), as the media are to the American people, being instead the channel through which the wizard Saruman was trying to control and destroy Theoden. Grima was a small man, being envious of his betters, resenting his not receiving what he considered his just due deference from others. And he was a coward, blustering when he thought he was in a strong position and grovelling when caught out. As Daffy Duck would say, "Despicable!" (Hey, I can go both high and low brow in the same comment, right?)

ReplyDeleteJust kidding, Chris, sorry. Couldn't help myself. :)
I don't know how these media types manage to deal with the gaping vacuum that their cognitive dissonance must be opening up in their skulls. Seems like it should kill a mortal man.
Because when their guy does it, it's okay. Okay? Just stop asking questions.
And what the hell is it with these media types and assange? Why the hate?
Goober, they don't want the competition.
