One more time: it's not about hunting

Lawdog points out Yet Another idiot who thinks that the Second Amendment is about sports:
"…the MP71A is unavailable to civilians and for good measure. We all know that’s technology no civvies should ever get to lay their hands on. This is a purpose-built weapon with no sporting applications to speak of."
Lawdog properly thrashes him on the matter, and we can but hope that RECOIL Magazine is soon exchanging longevity tips with the Dodo bird and Rambler Automotive, Inc.  So that's just bad marketing.  The idiocy part comes in from the whole not getting it's not about hunting thing.  As a public service to Jerry Tsai and other like minded ignoramuses, here is what I think is an outstanding synopsis of where the Second Amendment came from and what motivated its authors (hint: it had nothing to do about sports).

And so I must disagree with RECOIL Magazine and You Suck And We Hate You, GMBH.  The MP71A has a clear Second Amendment purpose.  Very clear.  In fact, unmistakeably clear.  And if the Only Ones don't like that then they should move to an actual Police State.

Hey Officer Friendly! America: love it or leave it.

I really don't see what's so hard about this.

  2. They already are moving towards a police state. If the T S A isn't a clue and the drones I don't know what is. Plus an indcreasing disregard for the rule of law by the judiciary.

  4. I listened to Newt and he started out the clip discussing how Lincoln while campaigning for office gave a speech and the content of that speech was about how important The Declaration of Independence was....

Lincoln went on to win the election and then proceed to prosecute a war against a portion of America that was at odds with the other portion....in effect saying that the south was not allowed it's own "declaration of independence". Hiding behind the
    smoke screen of abolition....the
practice of slavery was waning and would disappear entirely thanks to the advent of modern industrial technology all on it's own....Lincoln waged a war to impose his idea of government on another group of people. I can't think of an act more ironic and hypocritical.

  5. Seems to me that government has no sporting purpose, either, and yet we allow unlicensed novices to have at it with gay abandon all the time. And it's a WHOLE lot more dangerous than any single gun.
