Seems that she called the director Hitler, and the crew likes him a whole lot more than her. Google tells me there are 366,000 hits for "Megan Fox dumb as a rock." Let's make it 366,001, shall we? Welcome to teh Internetz, Megan - Hollywood reporters won't talk about how you treat other people, but someone will.'She was famous! She was the next Angelina Jolie, hooray! Wait a minute, two of us worked with Angelina - second thought - she's no Angelina. You see, Angelina is a professional.
'We know this quite intimately because we've had the tedious experience of working with the dumb-as-a-rock Megan Fox on both Transformers movies.'
And Edge could not be reached for comment. I think he was watching her movies ...
In other News of the Dumb, we find that Mr. Robert Jones has had his day in court. We've seen Mr. Jones before, when he almost drove his BMW off a cliff because that's what his GPS told him to do.
Well, it seems that the Crown Court has fined Mr. Jones £370, and slapped him with £500 court costs for driving "without due care and attention." Boy, howdy:
Clicky through to get a picture of Jones' car hung up on the edge of a cliff. I'm not sure I'd take the Jeep up that track."The defendant followed that system to the letter, so much so it led him up a lane clearly unsuitable for motor vehicles.
"The path was such it was not designed for use of motor vehicles yet Mr Jones slavishly continued to follow the sat nav system to the point where his eyes and his brain must have been telling him otherwise to such a degree he was not exercising proper control of the vehicle."
Filing under the tag "European Rednecks" because - well, pretty obvious, isn't it? But we'll give the last word to Mr. Jones:The court heard evidence from road traffic officer PC Stephen Young, who said the situation was "humorous" yet "daunting and frightening" when he arrived at the scene after Jones called for help.
He told the court that the bridle path, used by dog walkers, belonged to a local farmer and added: "He told me the track was so precarious that he would not, as a general rule, take his own horses down because it was so narrow."
Speaking after the case, upset Jones said: "I'm extremely disappointed. I was using the sat nav properly but users should be made more aware they should only use them as a guide."Unless you want to get featured on Country Fried Home Videos, Scooter.
Lastly, News of the Dumb. scientists are getting jiggy with the Drake Equation:
A mathematical equation that counts habitats suitable for alien life could complement the Drake equation, which estimates the probability of finding intelligent alien beings elsewhere in the galaxy. That equation, developed in 1960 by US astronomer Frank Drake, estimates the probability of intelligent life existing elsewhere in our galaxy by considering the number of stars with planets that could support life. The new equation, under development by planetary scientists at the Open University in Milton Keynes, England, aims to develop a single index for habitability based on the presence of energy, solvents such as water, raw materials like carbon, and whether or not there are benign environmental conditions. The Drake Equation. Riiiiight. We've seen - and dissected - that before, so we shan't repeat it, other than to say that you don't know (and can't know) what reasonable values are for almost any of the terms of the equation. It's complete rot, as planetary scientists should know. As a helpful reminder to them (and as a prophylactic against teh Stupid), here's XKCD on the Drake Equation:
Megan Fox - One of those people who are technically very beautiful, but who generally do nothing for me - beyond the absolute basal level. Translation: If I were single, I would - but then would almost immediately regret it.
ReplyDeleteDrake Equation: I'm still waiting for proof that there's intelligent life on this planet.
I always liked looking at Angelina Jolie, but I developed a whole 'nother level of respect for her as a person after watching some behind-the-scenes stuff about the two Tomb Raider films. Jolie is liberal to the core, including being rigidly anti-gun, but she went all-out in learning how to handle guns for the role of Lara Croft. Handguns, rifles, shotguns, SMGs, she learned how to handle and use each and every one. For a rigid anti-gunnie, that had to be hard.
ReplyDeleteRegarding mindless following of GPS: did you know there are little back-country towns in England that have dreadful problems with loaded semi trucks trying to squeeze through streets and around corners much too small for them, because that's the way the GPS says is the shortest route?
As for XKCD, it had another SETI-related 'toon today, that made me laugh out loud.
Megan Fox,
ReplyDeletePossibly dumb as rocks,
This for me is no big thing,
The man who pulls off of that, England's next king.
Heh.
