I read that these old cars are referred to as "boats" because starting in te 1930's the major car companies started to hire boat designers to make cars look more flowing and streamlined.
Doubletrouble, I bow to your superior experience. Although these days (what with the buzz cut and all). it's too bad that hats aren't more accepted. Other than ball caps or cowbow hats, I'm lidless. :-(
Accepted, my arse. Wear what you like. I bought a nice fedora a few years ago (had to buy it from FNYC- only place to find one) & wear it on "dressed" occasions. I constantly get remarks on how good it looks, & folks wonder why people don't wear them any more. Well, I do, & I think it still looks classy...
I love the outfits, especially the bowler hat.
