There was an article in some obscure place about the NWS climate stations being changed from whitewash to white paint, and he innocently thought, "I wonder if that changes the temperatures they report?" (spoiler alert - yes, and just guess which direction it skews the data). <br /><br />They've surveyed the vast majority of the climate reporting stations in the US. Over 64% of them report over 2 degrees C high, and another 21.5% report over 1 C high. That's ignoring those that report over 5C high. Much of it is Urban Heat Island effect. <br /><br />All in all, under 8% report less than 1C too high, or properly. <br /><br />The data series suck so bad, they could suck a monkey through 50 feet of garden house. <br /><br />SiGraybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00280583031339062059noreply@blogger.com
