If it's a good stats book, they cover a lot of very useful stuff. But speaking as a guy in front of two ceiling to floor, 3 foot wide bookshelves, and less than 15 feet away from two more the same size, a lot of the old books I have would best be used for that. Or holding up one corner of a dinner table. I just forced myself to put about two shelves worth (mostly 40+ year old junior college chemistry and biology books) in the recycling bin.
