Apparently Germany has raised retirement a...Update:<br />Apparently Germany has raised retirement age to 67<br /><br />Greece has retirement age of 55<br /><br />WTFKeithnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6322916946732811685.post-60401830990692545852010-02-10T10:26:41.095-05:002010-02-10T10:26:41.095-05:00Europe is based on the assumption that everyone ha...Europe is based on the assumption that everyone has a duty to pay for the French to have 40 days a year payed holiday, 35 hour working week and full welfare state provision, just for being French.<br /><br />Trouble is everyone else has the same expectations.<br /><br />Britain, long ago, got pissed off at paying all the money and getting no benefits, but even with a rebate, is still a far bigger net contributer than France (about double), with roughly the same population<br /><br />Ireland (where I'm writing this) has at least gone as far as cutting state employees pay (a major move forward for the Fianna Failure (national socialist lite)led coalition govt - who want to be all things to all people).<br /><br />Greece has to face up to its responsibilities sooner or later.<br /><br />Spain, with its socialist govt, elected on the good advice of al qaeda, I have zero hope or sympathy for.<br /><br />My advice to the German tax payers is to let their elected representatives know that they will not pay to subsidise socialist profligacy else where in the world.<br /><br />If the yoyo fails, so be it.Keithnoreply@blogger.com
