The one thing that the article doesn't discuss is the type of "Armor Piercing" ammunition that normal citizens can get. There's a brief discussion of this on this Reddit thread. (Yeah, yeah, I know - Reddit. But the info seems reasonable)
He also has an interesting post up comparing .300 Blackout with 5.56 NATO.
I personally don't like 300 Blackout. I disagree with the comment about using it for hog hunting because it is 'suppressed'. The first round that 'slaps' a hog, they will scatter, suppressed or not!
ReplyDeleteUsed to be armor piercing 30'06 was cheap and widely available and it was perfect for your M1 Garand. I am intrigued now to see if there are still sources for this ammo.
