A message to commenter "DTWND" (and people who think like him

I recently posted The Lamps Are Going Out All Over America.  For the two of you (likely including DTWND), the reference was to the beginning of World War I, when the politicians realized that the New World that they had created was basically everyone standing is a room filled with gasoline waving lit matches around.  We know how that turned out.

My post was not inflammatory; it was sad. Nonetheless, reader DTWND left the following comment:

Those of you on the right are really, REALY [sic] hoping that something in the shooter’s background will tie him to the leftist, liberal side of politics. Meanwhile, you’ll continue to deny and obfuscate the truth that this was one of your own. Just like the group that planned to kidnap Michigan’s governor Whitmer; the guy that shot and killed the two Minnesota legislators: the folks that marched in Charlottesville: the shootings at the LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando: the ‘peaceful demonstators’ [sic] at the Capitol on January 6th; etc.

I find it telling that all the former presidents, Democrats and Republican, issued messages of condolence, condemnation of the event, and calls to end political violence, while the current president condemned the violence but also expressed the point that those of the left persuasion need to under scrutiny and should not be trusted.

As Mr Kirk had stated, “Prove me wrong.”
Here is the pertinent part of my original post, and my replied to Mr. DTWND:

Who would have figured 24 years ago that society would be destroyed from within?

[Memes deleted]

If you don't know the people who don't understand that sentence, then they are the ones who you need to not know.

Not particularly well said, but perfectly understandable.  And so you clearly failed on multiple levels:

  1. It sure as shootin' looks like the shooter was a leftist freak.  The 72 hour rule applies here, which you either ignored, didn't know, or skated past because you were angry.
  2. It "wasn't one of our own", it was exactly what you'd expect from a rabid Left baying for the blood of conservatives.  See #1, above.  Nicely done, getting two own goals from the same ball, though.
  3. The group that was going to kidnap Governor Crazy Eyes was led by a FBI asset.  Sorry you're so behind on this, but not really surprised.
  4. The rest is IQ-90 level Leftist boilerplate.  Ashley Babbit would reply but could not be reached for comment, as she was shot in the back by a Capitor Hill police officer on January 6.  Some of us are aware on the rules for the use of Deadly Force; you clearly are not, but thought this was a winning argument for "conservative violence".  Dumbass.
  5. Former Presidents call for the end of political violence?  Gosh, why might this be hard to believe?

  6. Most significantly, you (a) did not reply to the content of my original post and (b) chose to try to insult me and hijack my site for your absurd political dogma.

Fine, then - let it be so.  DTWND, go away and don't come back.  We don't need your thoughts polluting this site. You're banned.  Go hang out with your leftie assassins.

  1. I read that comment and felt the same as you BP. Someone using about the same user name on Newsmax makes the same asinine comments.

He and others of his ilk keep trying the Joseph Goebbles technique of telling a lie often enough it becomes the truth. Over on X individuals keep parroting the lies that the Charlie Kirk assassin is a conservative straight white male which are proven to be all lies. The Left can only exist through lying.

  2. Then again, it looks like he WAS a Leftist living with an in process transgender :

The vehemence with which they deny is telling. THey all know, just like we do, that the violence (so far) is all Leftists. The Leftists would do their best to deny it, but anyone with the cognitive ability of lentils can see that.

  3. The sad part is that their technique works even better now than when they were organizing pogroms with broadsheets and general applications of street violence in 1930. The kids today in early 20s only believe what they hear from their friends and antifa owns their friends.

  4. Is this an organized operation to "flood the zone" with boilerplate stuff? I see similar critters showing up on other conservative leaning sites. If so, congrats Borepatch, you've made the Big Time.
Or if it is an actual person who feels this way, well, I recognize your 1st Amendment right to say such things. Please appreciate my equivalent right to say its utter, ill informed, potentially malicious tripe.

    1. I noted that over at Postcards to Barsoom which is as right wing as you can get, at least in Canada. Remember how AI works. Flood the zone and AI will regard it as truth. They may be using AI to flood the zone creating a perpetual motion machine.

  5. Not just flooding the zone with it was a MAGA dude for normies.

They sit around telling each other the "Facts" (aka talking points) it was a MAGA dude as to deflect from THEMSELVES.

  6. Information operation in action. TPTB are desperate to get a Summer of Floyd type response. That didn't happen. They did manage to silence a voice of moderation who was effective in persuading the youngest generation. They'll take that for the win, though they in the short term probably drove a few million people away from the democratic party doing so.

  7. The worst thing is, no amount of facts will ever change his opinion.

  8. You forgot to mention that The Pulse was shot up by a Muslim whose father was an FBI informant and whose wife was acquitted because of FBI misconduct.

  9. I believe the two MN lawmakers were shot by one of the "faithful" for breaking ranks with their fellow democrats.

I have been fascinated by WWI because if there ever was a conflict that never need fighting it was the war to end all wars. Lies, damn lies and ignorance pushed it over the edge.

  10. The message coming out of those people now for us is that Charlie got what he deserves and if we don’t shut up, we’ll get it too. My experience is that when the ultimatums start flying… the blood soon flies as well.

  11. 12. We overlook a lot of information by confining the discussion as Left/Right. The shooter has a long association with the Groypers, who, at the surface level, are identified with the Right. If you look deeper, they're really not, nor are they Left. They're nihilistic anarchists. And in that sense, they're diametrically opposed to the Charlie Kirks of the world, who we label as "Right". Kirk was an Authoritarian Right--he believed in a Christian government that dictated all aspects of daily life. The Groypers aren't interested in replacing the current system; they simply want to burn it down. In that, they are the enemy of both the Left and the Right in this country, both of which tend to the Authoritarian side.

We're going to see more of these attacks.

    1. Except he DIDN'T have the association you claim.

that was a Leftist unsubstantiated statement to make it look as it this attack (assignation) was Right on Right, when it wasn't

  13. Agree with you. All of the hype/etc. from the left will NOT change the facts of what happened. May he rest in peace.

  14. I’m man enough to admit when I’m wrong, as I am in this instance. Initial reports indicated the shooter was a registered Republican from a staunchly conservative family. Later reports indicate otherwise. I was angry at this obvious political violence and let that anger overcome me.
I was not aware of your 72 hour delayed comment period, which In hindsight is probably appropriate in most instances.
If you still want me to stay away with my liberal viewpoints, I will honor your request.

    1. You also need to be discerning in your choice of media. This piece of disinformation was indeed out there in the MSM. Still is, I think. At least check multiple sources from different viewpoints.

  15. Apologies are rare in this day and age, and deserve recognition. But the choice of words here is odd....Borepatch does not have a 72 hour comment delay policy, its just common sense and universally known. With information being more widely spread, and a Justice Department that means business, 48 hours is usually sufficient, but 72 better.

Helpful hints, Dale, if you are indeed a non bot entity. When somebody cooks up a "far right" group you've never heard of before the convenient moment, be very skeptical. Hutarees, Boogaloo Boys, Groupyers or whatever the flavor of the month happens to be.

Most shocking crimes are not evil masterminds playing 6 D chess. I know, every stupid movie plot has a shadow organization (run by EEEVVILLL old white guys) behind the initially identified patsies. The real world, not so much.

That being said I'm expecting a lot more information to emerge in the next few days, but I'll keep my counsel for now.

  16. I kind of despair that the young I know will not really wake up and understand that all they see every single day is propaganda and that they do it by choice and with the connivance of the PTB who own and operate the media. They don't watch the media but they literally fill their minds with total BS and then share it with each other like vomit and they believe it because, 'all their friends believe it.' It's maddening. I don't argue with them I just keep telling them to open the aperture.
