UPDATE 8 MAY 2024 12:18: Never mind. The description was dodgy and misleading, and the price is for 200 rounds, not 1000. Pretty disappointed in CMP's marketing on this. And for that price you can get new (not decades-old) ammo. Thanks for the comments from alert readers.
CMP is selling 1000 round cans of .45ACP Ball surplus ammunition for $150 plus shipping. This is about the best deal I remember seeing for .45ACP in a long time.
They also have 500 round bricks of .22LR for $80 which seems pretty good.
I would order but even though the picture shows a metal ammo can marked for 1000 rds, the descrition says 200 rds. There is no where I can see that it states you will receive 1000 rds for that price which would be a ridiculously low $0.15/rd.
ReplyDeleteI did call to verify and was told that the picture shown was the only one they had available and the price is $150.00 for a 200 rd box or $0.75/rd. To be honest there are many sellers offering 45ACP auto between $0.30 - $0.40 cheaper than that.
ReplyDeleteGet a reloader and a bullet mould.
ReplyDeleteWhile you have to watch shipping and tax, there are lots of places where you can find 45 ACP for 50 cents a round.
ReplyDeleteAnd $80 for a brick of 22 is not a deal either - you can get them delivered in quantity for $40 to $50 a brick from many places.
I retail 22 bricks starting at $35 and 45 acp at $25 a box, including sales tax.
