I heard from Borepatch

 Borepatch, the QOTW, and Wolfgang are all okay.

Borepatch will give a full report when they are reconnected with the modern world. Neither he or I know when that might be. I heard from him by text message tonight. I don't have much any other information, but I know the regulars were waiting for some report so there ya go.

    Thanks. From the little I know about these storms, he took proper precautions, but I'm sure SiG is a far better source of knowledge than I am.

    Thanks for the update. And it is a known preppers' tip that texting can get through when a voice call can't. A text transmits in milliseconds if it can connect to a network at all.

    Borepatch and I live in the same area. I emailed him and he replied that he made it through OK, with some damage to his roof tiles. Now we have major power outages.

    Nothing but some minor damage.

    I'm not going to talk down to anyone who chooses to live in Florida (a packing crate there beats the hell out of a penthouse in New York,) but hot and dry here in Arizona doesn't look so bad after all, does it?
