From the comments over at Althouse, there's an assertion that the reason that the SCOTUS took ten years to take a Second Amendment case was that Roberts told everybody that if they took a case he would vote against it. Then Trump appointed Barrett and instead of a 5-4 court it was 6-3 and he lost his veto.
No citations are offered up, but it's an interesting idea. The implications are important if this is true - Thomas had his 75th birthday yesterday so we can expect maybe five more years from him. Given the questionable state of Presidential (at least) elections, that may be all the time we have.
Then again, maybe this is just another chemtrails theory.
I tend to agree. Five years to socialism or revolution.
ReplyDeleteTalk of CWII and revolution is coming from people you'd never heard this from a year or two ago. People like us have been seeing this coming for years.
ReplyDeleteBiden came out this morning after the R vs W decision saying that we were headed towards a "mini revolution..." Joe, you have NO IDEA how wrong you are... about the "mini" part...
I fully believe it. Justice 'Squishy' Roberts has always flipped on hard decisions unless there's a majority even without him. Rat bastard. Has no qualms about ruling against the Constitution if it suits him.
ReplyDeleteSounds reasonable. Roberts has been squishy ever since he got on the court.
ReplyDeleteWell we need some kind of seperation even up here in Canada. The neoliberals are lying, cheating and murdering to get their way. They are racking up the debt, pawning the bills off on others, and embracing lunacy, depravity and degeneracy. You can't run a country like that. Their families and communities are trainwrecks and if they get their way, ours will be too.
ReplyDeleteThere is a reckoning coming regardless. Either we will destroy them, or they will destroy themselves. The current state of affiars only ends one way. Something has to change.

ReplyDeleteRoberts has been captured opposition since he squished on Obozocare.
ReplyDeleteThey've either got pictures of him with a dead girl or a live boy, but either way, he's a waste of oxygen, and only votes with the conservative majority so he gets to write the occasional opinion.
Maybe next year SCOTUS could explore things like election fraud, and the Fourth and Fifth amendments, and do for them what they did for the Second and Tenth Amendments this year.
In five years, we could have a republic again, if Stumblefuck Poopypants and his sidekick Kneepads haven't burned it to the ground before then.
Do understand that Senator Cruz convinced Shrub II to put Roberts on the court.
ReplyDeleteI have long thought this to be the case. At least I can't come up with another explanation for the long delay especially since their was a circuit court split for much of that time which is the normal trigger for the Supremes to take a case. The court typically does writs of certiorari at the end of the session. Not sure what is in the pipeline at this point. Lets hope there is something.
ReplyDeleteI read that somewhere when they turned down Peruta. Roberts hasn’t been the same since Obama threatened the Court during his SOTU.
ReplyDeleteThe court is still 5-4
ReplyDeleteRoberts can only be counted on to vote against the Constitution.
Once in a while, he will accidentally get it right.
I think Justice Thomas will step down when Brandon is replaced by a republican and is assured that the RINO will name a real conservative to replace him on the court and not another squish like Roberts. We are all well aware of what a catastrophe to the left it was to have Ginsberg die in office and leave her seat to President Trump to fill with a republican Senate.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was all over when Scalia died.
