The Purge

If you can silence a sitting President, who else can you silence? I expect to see the blog hosting platforms eliminate the voices they don't like. Like ours. It will happen in a purge. There will be no recourse. We will just disappear from the internet and our voices will be heard no more.

"No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots". -- Barbara Ehrenreich

“I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

-- Hillary Clinton

Yup -- I'll get the plug pulled as well.

Are you on any other platforms, such as Gab or others?

Yep, one of the reasons I left blogger and got my own IP, and run on private servers. They're going to have to work to get rid of me.

While no substitute for blogger or wordpress, there is Parler - which is down right now; or mewe - which is also having growing pains.

There are others apparently, but I am not savvy enough to find them.

Interesting pushback from foreign places. Both AMLO and Merkel (of all people) had issues with the bans. In the case of Merkel, it is probably the prospect of the slippery slope reaching her. Perhaps even more interesting was a comment by some Indian guy. Not sure who he was but seemed to be somewhere in the government/tech industry/thinktank realm. His comment was that India, Israel and other countries need AS A MATTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY to develop alternative platforms. Put India, Israel, Germany (aka the EU) and Mexico together, you have got huge numbers and big time tech capacity. This provides both a deterrent aimed at the tech oligarchs and a place of tech refuge for dissident voices. India seems attractive because they would probably operate in English. The proximity of Mexico is attractive too although that might be a better refuge for talk radio. Remember Wolfman Jack.

If we vanish from the Internet, your voice may not be heard but mine will one way or another. As rRalph Kramden used to say I've got a BIG mouth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnvgWYm8B84.
