Ennio Morricone - Spagetti Western themes on unusual instruments

Ennio Morricone wrote some of the most iconic music for Clint Eastwood's early films.  This has made it a staple of Pops Orchestras (those which play popular music).  Here are three renditions by instruments you don't hear every day at the Pops.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is quite good, and very funny.

Hungary's Győr Philharmonic Orchestra performs on a Theremin.   That's a weird instrument, right there.

The Nederlands Concertkoor perform with a harmonica.

  1. The Theremin -- I didn't know it was invented in 1928. And yes, an other worldly sound for sure.

I think Sarah Hicks and the Danish Orchestra does the spaghetti western themes best of all. Especially with the wonderful Tuva Semmingsen who does the waah waah and whistling.

  2. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra did some great job with Morricone and others
