WOW!

Slave over a an insightful, meaningful post on an important topic. *crickets*

Throw up a observation about calendars, ordinal counting, and the way we start decades and you get a dozen comments, a link from Tam, and a long conversation via chat with the Queen of the World.

My resolution for the year is more pedantic nonsense.

Maybe a post on commas and semicolons. Or this. There must be a post in this.

My my, just invent a word and go with it. Eleventy eleven. In a few months Websters will cite this as an accepted truism and add it to the 2020 dictionary.

To Tetrapod,

I'm pretty sure Tolkien came up with eleventy.

To Borepatch,

I don't comment on the long, thoughtful posts, because I've really nothing to add. Your long history of posting about the critical thinking that the lay person can apply to the nonsense around AGW is what has kept me as a loyal reader for at least a decade.

One thousand eleventy-one. Or "one eleventy-one" for short. :)

I like eleventeen onety one, but to be consistent with the pattern, it should be oneteen onety one.

1911 was "nineteen eleven".
1811 was "eighteen eleven".
1411 was "fourteen eleven".
1211 was "twelve eleven".

So how bout we keep the same pattern and call 1111 "Eleven eleven"
