Celebrating the Wal-Mart Ammunition Decision

There's one group of gun owners celebrating the Wal-Mart decision to stop selling pistol ammo, .223NATO, and 7.62 Russian.

It's the people who own gun stores. They've never been able to compete with Wal-Mart on price and now they have been given a gift. They'll get more sales of ammo, have more people come through their doors, and possibly sell more guns and other supplies due to the increase customer traffic.

Go visit your local version of Gun Universe and buy a box of 9mm. While you're there, look at what he's got in stock. Buy some full size magazines before the next panic, consider what fills a hole in your safe, and get to know the man behind the counter. He's been waiting for you.

Total Agreement. Great post.

I'll hobble there on my cane, dammit.

We haven't bought any firearms related items from Walmart since before the great ammo drought.

If you haven't already been buying online by the case then you have been missing out on most of the good deals.

Just yesterday, I went to the range and picked up 2 boxes each of 9mm and 40S&W defense ammo. Then, I went to Brownell's and bought a case each of 5.56 Lake City green tip and 7.62 FMJ.

'zackly.

WalMart is going to replace Obozo as multi-year champion Gun Salesman Of the Year; they'll just be sold at your local firearms merchant, not WallyWorld.

I guess this is the silver lining in the growing cloud of corporate leftism. They have lost my support when the leftists come to expropriate them or just regulate them into irrelevance which is inevitable.

Too many FTF, FTE, and fail-to-bang problems with WW box ammo. Local gun store has reasonable prices on Federal and Remington. Plus they sell by the case: Wally doesn't.

Good advice.

Thanks for the reminder to contact my local fun store about a couple of extra magazines for something I'll probably lose in a tragic boating accident.

Been doing that for a while. Most of the ammo at Wally World is junk anyway... The occasional good box of 30-06, .270, or .243 is about it.
