Call we when we start fighting a war on drugs. I've yet to see that once in my entire lifetime.
What we're getting now is a pork-barrel appropriations project on drugs, slowed down to the maximum possible level to continue the milking process in perpetuity. We could dismantle cartel distro networks top to bottom in about a week, but that would require the actual will to do so, and would violate no one's civil rights whatsoever.
That it doesn't do so should tell you everything you need to know about this imaginary "war". It is the Emperor's New Clothes of war.
When they start putting dealers up against the wall and shooting them on the spot, and chain-ganging possessors along the side of the road with sledgehammers and striped suits, that will be the war.
I challenge anyone to post photos of that going on anywhere, at any time in the last century. Can't point to it, can you?
Absolutely. Long overdue.

Game over.
Aesop -- you make a strong point. I'm inclined to agree.
