The end of the Boy Scouts

This has been coming for a long time, but is just another sad chapter in the War on boys.

Hat tip: Brock Townsend, who has more thoughts.

  1. Both sad and scary. I know God has a plan; but I really have trouble envisioning it right now.

    Have a blessed weekend.

  2. Linda, hopefully God's plan is to have someone start a different organization.

  3. I think they ended 20 years ago. Back then my nephews went in and only lasted a season. They did arts n' crafts. They didn't go camping, tie knots, shoot .22s or any of that stuff. It was like a badly run daycare for boys. Good riddance.

I do know that oftentimes the campsites around my favourite lakes for fishing were often filled with youngsters out with some father, having themselves informal 'man camps'. It's not the same, but these days we gotta do for ourselves - and our sons.

  4. There is a program. I don't know what all the details are, but here's the link. http://www.traillifeusa.com/

  5. I went down the UK equiv of junior ROTC but still... what a scandal.

    We'll probably see the backlash.

  6. Boys need a place to just be boys. This is a very bad thing.

I suppose girl scouts accepts boys now too?
