Not cool. Not cool at all. I mean, really, M16A2s? If I were running things, at the very least I'd put M4A1s on the racks. Adjustable stocks AND true giggle switches instead of idiotic "burst" fire.
ASM826, Maybe we could just let people RENT the guns?
I remember my uncle telling me that in the 50's, the VFW hall had a bunch of '03 springfields that they rented out for 5$ during deer season, here in Michigan. He said that he was late one time, and they had run out. So a friend of his loaned him a 30/40 Krag. He loved the gun. A couple years later, the friend was building a house, and my uncle, a carpenter, came over and put up his chimney for him. The guy knew my uncle would never take money from him, so he gave him the Krag. My uncle then bought another one, this time a sporterized one. My dad also had a sporterized one. When he passed away, I got it, and passed it down to my son, who is in the Navy. My son now has that gun, an M-1 Garand, an M-1 carbine, an '03 Springfield, and I think a S & W revolver in 38S&W. Plus he has an AR 15 and an SKS. That is just the ones that I know about. His neighbor is a collector, and gets deals on guns sometimes, so when he got the M-1 carbine, he actually got two, and sold one to my son for a song. He also sold him the SKS for 100$, a few months ago. Pretty nice neighbor to have. My son likes the AR 15 because on ship, when they shoot their weapons, everyone knows he reloads, and when he goes back to his bunk, he says it is loaded with empty brass. Pretty neat.
Sure, renting would be good. Land at an airport, get a taxi and a weapon before you go into the city. Might make tourists look less attractive to criminals.

ReplyDeleteAh, go all fuddy-duddy and use mini-14s because 'scary black rifle.'
ReplyDeleteNow if it was a rack of Grease guns... Hmmmm....
ROTFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteI'm a libertarian and a fiscal conservative. I want people to buy their own rifles.

ReplyDeleteI'm good with A2s. Paraphrasing the noted philosopher H. Callahan:
ReplyDelete"Do you feel fortunate, son?"
