Turlough O'Carolan - Si Bheag Si Mhor

The Dropkick Murphys are Irish(ish), but not traditional.  You want traditional for St. Paddy's Day?  You don't get more traditional Irish than Turlough O'Carolan.  This is one of his most famous compositions, done (as it would have been in his day) on the harp.

  1. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Tom Rowe's version with the penny whistle was always a haunting and moving part of Schooner Fare's shows, as you know. But the harp is so pure, it is the essence of the tune.

Just back from sunny Florida, traveling all day, so I am late for class, but I always appreciate your music posts.
