Don't Video Yourself Commiting Felonies

Scott Pappalardo decided that somehow his AR-15 was a danger to humanity. He jumped over all the other things he might have done and decided to destroy it on video to make a moral statement.

The BBC is sharing that video like Ol' Scotty has just discovered a cure for cancer.

However, what Mr. Pappalardo actually did was commit a felony on camera. He cut off the barrel of his AR-15 rifle. He had made and is now in possession of an unregistered short barreled, single shot, rifle.

I look forward to hearing more about his entanglement with the BATFE in the near future.

The BATF actually has instructions with pictures online showing how to legally destroy a firearm. The first cut should be through the receiver, and with a torch, not a saw. Cut it with a saw, and it might be reassembled with welding. Information is so easy to obtain in this age that there truly is no excuse for doing something this stupid.

He only cut up the part that is not the gun. The lower is still in working condition.

I'd love to see the BATFE pay this guy a visit, even if they didn't prosecute him for creating an SBR. Maybe just a hefty fine.

Agree with Sig... :-)

It would enough of a punishment to make him go through the paperwork process, get the background check, and pay the tax stamp. Then he could go ahead and flame-cut the receiver for another 15 minutes of fame.

What would stop this dingaling drama queen from installing a new barrel?

Ok, now that the attention is over, new barrel time.

I call BS.

If this guy were legit, he would probably take it in to the local cop shop and quietly hand it in. I cannot see somebody calling up the mass media, telling them 'I'm chopping up my AR!' - and them sending reporters out to write it up. People don't do that.

Gunnies don't do that either - most of us hate the media and are smart enough to avoid them altogether. I will bet dollars to donuts the media slobs bought the gun, cut it themselves, and paid for an actor.

Any takers...? ;)

You should not discount the possibility that the gun was bought by Soros or Bloomberg minions.

Richard, no matter how he acquired the rifle, the video is evidence of a felony punishable by 10 years in the federal prison system.

Shhhyeah. He'll be prosecuted.

Sure he will.
