Pronunciation sometimes isn't the issue

  1. Yep, I first heard it as an old German professor speaking to a garden club who escaped by stealing a Luftwaffe airplane.

I learned about Douglas Bader as a teenager. He was truly one who earned the "Hero" title.

    1. Yes Sir! Losing part of both legs and learning to fly with artificial legs, going into combat, becoming an ace and getting shot down, during which process his "tin" legs are somehow stuck in the airplane trapping him. He unbuckled the legs and bails out saying later that was the only time he was glad to have lost the originals. A new pair is parachuted to the POW camp he's held at. He then participates in the preparation of "The Great Escape" told by Paul.Brickhill. A hero of the first order.
