I used Macs at work from 1989-1999, when they switched us marketers to PCs running NT4 to see if we could produce with Quark and Adobe Creative Suite in the Wintel environment. Short answer: yes (actually, it was more stable than the contemporary flavor of MacOS 7).
I had a Mac 512KE souped up to 2MB RAM at home for several years, then whatever Mac Sears was selling in 1995, until I switched to Win98 in about 2001.
My first PC was a Franklin Ace 1000 (Apple II+ clone, and I had a "pre-lawsuit model, which makes it sound like a 1970s Japanese guitar), bought in 1983.

Sadly, I did not own a Mac until 1992 it was an LC II. I never personally owned an Apple II, but I did use them at work and school.
