Camping on the Beach

Mosquitoes were bad this year. Tropical Storm Hermione left a lot of standing water last week and a bumper crop hatched. Enough of them that Borepatch retreated north to Williamsburg before we arrived.

With the mosquitoes mentioned, this was perhaps the best weather and one of the best beach camp outs we've had. It also the first vacation after the death of our son last year, so it was a bit of a question if we would enjoy ourselves much. We did. Everything has some sadness, it seems like every time we do anything, we trip over memories. Still, we love the Outer Banks and it brought both of us to life be out there.

And now to the pictures. As always, click to biggify.

If you encourage me, beware, I have a couple of hundred more.

Beautiful pictures. We both feel bad about bugging out (heh), but we'll get together at a campground between there and here.

But we're still scratching the bites from the hour that we were there. Oof.
