So the latest news is that you can run Ubuntu and bash on Windows 10. In other words, from the bash command-line, you execute apt-get to get/run any Ubuntu binary -- the same binary that runs on Linux. How do it work?Native Linux commands to install and run Linux commands - on Windows.I don't know yet, but browsing around on the Internet suggests that it's a kernel driver in Windows that emulates Linux system calls.

Will they screw up Linux as they have done to the rest of computing?
ReplyDeleteThey can keep it. I've experimented some with win10 in a VM on OpenMandriva Lx, it sux. Afterwards, I posted my experiences on a dark web board I frequent, people started coming out bemoaning the fact that they had already done the upgrade from 7 to 10 and were trying to figure out how to revert to the previous version. M$ should've stuck with XP.
