All Law Is Force

Every law involves the threat of force. If a law is passed, the responsibility for enforcement is given to law enforcement. Even rules and regulation from organizations like the IRS and the EPA are treated like laws. From murder to traffic violations, what happens if you refuse to comply with the law and are discovered? Even if your non-compliance is based on religious belief, moral principles, or a correct understanding of science, the outcome is the same.

Force is used. Men with guns, tasers, batons, and handcuffs show up. If you continue to refuse to comply, they use their strength in numbers and the tools they brought until you do comply or you are dead. We are usually compliant, or at least more compliant than others, and we don't normally think about the logical end of things, but it is there.

It is something to think about whenever you advocate for a new law.

"Government is like fire, a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

Another Twilight Zone moment!

I just posted something similar on my humble blog...

(Must be something in the Jungian universe?)
