We Definitely Need To Change the Dollar

Apple has announced that they are pulling all the games that have the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia in them. That's correct. Want to play Ultimate General: Gettysburg? Tough. It's gone. Swept away down the memory hole. A tiny digital representation of a historical battle flag makes it unacceptable.

But the dollar bills with the picture of a slave owner on them?

Apple is still accepting them.

Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.

When I was a kid in school we drew swastikas all over our books, along with the SS insignia. Sure - we knew about the jews, the holocaust and Hitler but we never seemed to associate the two things for some reason.

We didn't do it because we were baby skin-heads - we did it to watch our politically correct teachers at school chimp out in rage! I was a young chit house artist and my books were festooned with them and pictures of Corsairs, Stukas and guns. I would have been put in solitary on bread and water today for all that. What a great childhood I had...Even though I was a Canadian kid I wanted to be a United States Green Bean Fuggin Marine! Still wish I had done it all those years ago.

Somewhere along the line I grew up, and turned into an grumpy old fart. But my anal retentive PC teachers and the kids they are skull-raping never seemed to manage that transition. We are three generations deep into that idiocy and it shows.

Funny how it works isn't it? Now that I am a grumpy, Canadian old fart...the thought of flying the Stars & Bars to make the PC wankers flip out is as strangely appealing now as drawing swastikas on my books was 40 years ago.

Maybe I haven't grown up after all...

My ancestors died fighting Bobby Lee and his magnificent, doomed army. And he is just a little below Washington in my pantheon of heros. I'm so sick of this.

I decided to never again do business with Apple awhile back because of their PC bullshit. It's ironic that they would boycott Indiana because of a law that would allow Christians to not be forced to participate in a gay wedding, but would happily do business with various middle astern satrappies that would murder any LGBTWXYZ person found.

This latest PC idiocy just reinforces my decision.

It really isn't hard. Apple software generally sucks, and everything else is way overpriced.

I stopped buying Apple products years ago. My last Apple product was a 2011 Air, and even that was underpowered for what I spent on it.

My big problem with Apple is its "we know what you need - and you don't need anything outside what we allow on our products" attitude.

The iPhone design, software, look-and-feel, and general usability (you can't do bupkis without iTunes) is a reflection of socialist ideals: Apple's "wall" prevents anyone from easily leaving their ecosystem, and their secretive (paranoid?) product development procedures generates products that are often less advanced and much more expensive than their competitors.

(I do embedded systems for a living folks - I know what I'm talking about.)

Just out of curiosity, how many WWII games have they pulled for showing the Nazi flag?
