That was the dumbest play call in Superbowl history

I can't imagine for the life of me why Seattle ran a pass at the New England goal line.  There was 30 seconds left on the clock and they would have been up by 3.

Stalin would have had the coach who called that play shot.

  2. I hate second guessing calls on the field, mainly because if the play had worked, no one would be second guessing the decision.

But holy shit, man, with Russ Wilson and Marshawn Lycnh in your offensive secondary, you've got the two stringest rushers in the league, one yard to go, and three more tries to get there...

    AND YOU PASS?

One yard passes from the goal line have the highest rate of interception of any other pass play. An interception at that point is a game ender.

The absolute last thing I would have done is passed the damn ball. I'm thinking a wilson keeper around the end, or maybe a Lynch beast run right up the one hole...

    Seahawks would be repeat champs...

  3. I heard the theory that with second and goal, no substitutions and 3 WR on the field the Seahawks play package for that situation called for a pass, and without guidance from the sideline Wilson just did what was called for...

Not saying it's a good idea, and if it worked or missed nobody would be talking about it today...

  4. He called it because Lynch was 1 for 5 from the goal line during the season. The Sea Hawks has used the slant pass successfully against previous opponents.

The problem was that the Patriots watched a lot of film and could predict what Carroll would do in that situation.

Which is why they had three Corner Backs in on that play.
