My shoulder has really been wearing me down, with essentially continuous pain. The broken collar bone ends are moving around, cutting tissue and causing bleeding and bruising. I'm actually glad that surgery is tomorrow because this needs to get fixed.
I mean, it's interfering with my blogging, for crying out loud.
Best of luck to you on the surgery and quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteI have been there, done that, and have multiple T-shirts.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty bad when you find yourself saying to someone, " Cut me! Please cut me!"
Pain may be a wonderful teacher, but all I am learning is to be cranky and frustrated by the limitations it has imposed.
May the fickle gods of medicine smile upon you.
You have my prayers for an inspired, skilled surgeon.
Good luck and heal fast my friend!
ReplyDeleteWe'll wait...

Ahhhhh. Chronic pain. I recall this.
ReplyDeleteSoul sucking, as I remember. With all my other problems I'm glad chronic pain is the one thing I've managed to beat. I'd have fed myself a bullet a couple years ago if not.
Go get better man.
Best wishes to you young feller.
ReplyDeleteHeal fast and be thinking of a southern rendezvous venue and date.
Here's hopin' you come out of surgery feelin' a LOT better - which should be almost immediately, as soon as the bones stop movin' around on their own.
ReplyDeleteTHEN, give it all the time you need to heal PROPERLY. Riding weather will be fine in a few months too... probably even better than now...
Best wishes BP. Do what you need to!
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well and wishing you a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteHope it goes well.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, airport metal detectors will be fun from here on out.
Hoping all goes well and recovery will be fast -

Here's hoping an easy surgery and quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, Borepatch.
ReplyDeleteAnd look at it this way: At least you're not shoveling snow...
A quick and easy healing to you.
ReplyDeleteAnd to keep your mind occupied, a question which occurred to me tonight, after seeing one IRL tonight while driving home from work:
If a drone of unknown origin appears in the airspace over your property, under what circumstances can you shoot it down?
Have someone keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteI should send you the x-rays of my best friend.
ReplyDeleteGot run over my a minivan while riding his bike, and had to get his collarbone screwed back together.
When you look at the x-rays it looked like they took crappy sheet metal and wood screws and haphazardly bolted him back together. Think sharp edges and protruding points everywhere.
He did manage to heal up, but MAN, the 'after' x-rays looked more painful than the 'before' ones.
