The Death of Santini

Pat Conroy has published a non-fiction autobiographical work about his father, his family, and his life. I think I would find Mr. Conroy a bit too far left politically for my taste, but he is a heck of a writer and this may be his finest work.

It has come out in paperback. I read it and give it a recommendation. If you do read it, consider the price that military families pay when a combat veteran comes come to take up his role as husband and father.

It's an excellent book and finishes up the story he started in "My First Losing Season." I wouldn't have lived his life on a bet.

He was interviewed on the Bob Edwards show on XM recently. What a childhood. That guy went through hell.
