It's called MOHS surgery. In my case it was for basil cell carcinoma. Really a tiny dot, I didn't wait, I went in to the dermatologist as soon as I was sure that whatever it was wasn't healing.
Start from something just a little bigger than the size of a period. Cut a round hole you could put a shotgun primer in. Check the margins to be sure, then cut a wedge across the nose, loosen the skin from the underlying meat on either side of the wedge cut and stitch it shut. Supposed to heal nicely with minimal scarring.
In the meantime, today was the day the first bandage could be removed, so I took you a picture.
