Firearms, hospitals, and Dilaudid

Because the hospital wasn't in the People's Republic of Massachussets but rather in the United States of America, they were easily able to handle my concealed carry pistol.  As a matter of fact the ICU nurse cleared the chamber.  He also rides a Fat Boy.  Cool guy.
But handling the pistol was no fuss, no muss.  Security has clearly done this a lot.  They kept it safe and I signed to get it back.
But it's locked in the back of the SUV now.  They have me on some righteous pain meds, the ones that effect your judgement. No doubt Nanny Bloomberg is adding this to the list of things to ban.  To keep teh Childremz safe from injured Borepatches.

  1. "Righteous pain meds that effect your judgement." THAT explains the whole "oriented and coherent" thing. It was drug induced and not your natural state of mind.

  2. Recently had a guy come in with full arrest. We did CPR and shocked him with the usual determination. Only later did we notice the loaded 9mm tucked in his waistband. On the negative side, he did not make it. (few out of hospital arrests do). On the positive side, he had the safety on.

  3. So glad you are on the road to recovery. One of the last smart things my Dad said was,"It only hurts if I breathe." His Dr. told him to keep right on breathing. You do the same!

  4. Well, let's definitely hope that those "righteous pain meds" "effect your judgement".

We wouldn't want anything to *affect* your judgement, right? LOL!

It's SO GOOD TO SEE YOU POST AGAIN!

Sending lots of good thoughts and wishes for improved health your way...

  5. Just think about how much worse it would be if you hadn't been wearing a helmet.

Then try not to laugh at those organ donors you see riding without one from now until forever.

  7. Still disappointed that I couldn't get a telefloral bouquet involving teletubbies, spent brass and a cactus.

But glad you are on the mend. Partner sends his regards from the road, and we both hope you are back home soon, with better things to worry about.

  8. Happy to hear you're "up & at 'em" bud!
Remind me sometime to relate to you my 10 mph-soft sand crash that busted my leg in two places.
    Best regards...

  10. Stay away from anything alcoholic while you are taking the pain meds. Bad things can happen. Time will heal your broken body.
