Ebola Vector

From CBSNews in their coverage of the Spanish nurse that contracted ebola while caring for a patient:
Authorities said in a statement Tuesday that available scientific knowledge indicates there's a risk the dog could transmit the deadly virus to humans.

Makes you wonder how many dogs walked down that sidewalk outside the apartment in Dallas in those days before they finally cleaned it up.

I'm not normally one to panic or worry about things that I know carry a minuscule change of impacting me - but since we live in the DFW metroplex - these very scenarios have been on my mind...

That would be the place where they just hosed the contaminated fluids into the drain...

The deal is that they don't know if a dog can be an Ebola vector or not. They just went ahead and euthanized him before actually seeing if the dog CARRIED the virus. Sounds as though the Spanish government is no more thoughtful than ours.

At least that is what I BELIEVE happened based on what I've read, albeit very little thus far.

Sorry about your accident - so very sorry. Hope you will find your way to recovery soon, we're both thinking good thoughts for your recovery.

I just returned from the boat so been 'away from the toobes', just catching up.
