When Anything is Possible

The equipment is moving to the line. The rifles are still cased or waiting on the rack. Targets are set. The regulars are gathered filling out the tops of their score sheets and paying the match fees.

In those moments, when the range is quiet and the sun is just over the trees, it is still possible to imagine that perfect alignment of equipment, practice, and karma where anything is possible and a 290 is not out of reach.

It may be quiet on the outside, but the anticipation is building inside of everybody to hear that first order to "commence firing!"

Ready on the Right? Ready on the left? All ready on the firing line!

Brings back memories, "10 rounds! In your own time!"

The range Sergeants were WWII vets, often, and the rifles were Lees.

Sorry, that dates me...
