I'm not sure an L-39 actually counts as a jet. /snark When they showed the footage of a T-38 at the beginning, I thought that would be a bit of a challenge.
I can get mine (2009 unrestricted/power commander and full exhaust with high flow intake/filter) into the mid tens at around 150mph for a 1/4 mile. I can't say how long it would take to get over 200. BUT I know it will go over the 200mph target.
Remember the Turbonique Company based in Orlando from the late '60s and early '70s? Much of their stuff was straight thrust, but IIRC they had a couple of turbine versions.
Meh. Top fuel dragster do zero to 200 in less than 2 seconds.
If you were driving at 200 miles per hour in a car, passed a line with a top fuel dragster sitting still at the line, and he wooded it right as you drive past, he'd be passing you in less than 1.6 seconds.
